ContextAttendance in a Nepali office
Offices in Nepal plan the year in Bikram Sambat: public holidays, leave and payroll months follow the Nepali calendar. Most HR software only knows the Gregorian (AD) calendar, so dates have to be converted by hand.
The problemWhat Route2Uni needed
- A daily attendance record (hajiri) that managers approve.
- Leave requests, holidays and office notices in the same place.
- Reports by team and department.
- Dates people recognise, in BS and AD.
DecisionsKey decisions and why
Every date shows in Bikram Sambat and AD side by side, so staff in Nepal and the UK team read the same record without converting.
Staff, team leads and admins see and approve different things, enforced with role-based rules in Firestore.
Firestore and Firebase Auth keep hosting and maintenance light for a tool used inside one organisation.
ResultsWhat it does today
- Daily attendance with approvals
- Leave, holidays and notices in one place
- Team and department reports
- Bikram Sambat and AD dates side by side
Hajiri sits next to the Route2Uni CRM as one of the internal tools I built for the company.
